About

Arianna Bottinelli is a London-based ceramicist who transitioned from a career in physics and scientific publishing to pursue her artistic passion in 2023.

Currently studying for a UAL diploma in Art and Design (Ceramics), her practice is inspired by nature, from simple forms and patterns to the complexity of human psychology. Currently, her work revolves around the human experience, exploring themes of imperfection, transience, fragility, and loneliness. Arianna seeks to evoke a sense of lightness in clay, transforming this inherently heavy material into delicate, almost ephemeral pieces. Her scientific background fuels her fascination with wild clays and glaze-making, driving her to continuously push the boundaries of ceramics as a medium.

Alongside her artistic and reflective practice, Arianna loves to have some fun in the studio, making functional ware inspired by nature and cats that she sells at art and craft markets or for commissions.
